Former Germany goalkeeper Tim Wiese doesn’t expect a Bundesliga return after almost two years on the sidelines - amid an offer to move on to wrestling.

“I wouldn’t mind but I believe that I won’t play as a pro again,” Wiese told on Wednesday’s edition of the Sport Bild weekly.

The six-times capped Wiese, 32, has not played in the Bundesliga since January 2013 after a move that summer from Werder Bremen to Hoffenheim. He later kept fit in a special training group for unwanted players at the club and, although now released from training, is officially contracted at Hoffenheim until 2016.

Wiese, who has gained weight from 89 kilos as a footballer to a now muscular 117 kilos, told Tuesday’s bild paper he has received an offer from the World Wrestling Entertainment to switch sports.

“I will let it sink in,” he said, adding, “I am not afraid.”
