ANKLESHWAR: Daily commuters travelling in 12929 down Valsad-Dahod Intercity superfast train upset over its daily delay disrupted rail traffic at Panoli railway station for two hours on Thursday from 9.30 am onwards. Many engineering students could not reach on time for their semester examination.
Rasik Patel, one of the daily commuters, said "Most of the passengers who travel in the intercity work in government and private offices located at Ankleshwar and Bharuch.
Often they reach late in their offices because the intercity has to make way for superfast trains."
The passengers protested on the rail track delaying Virar Shuttle, Howrah Express, Shatabdi Express, Swaraj Express and several other trains for two hours. The protestors were lathicharged by Railway Police Force and dispersed. The rail services resumed soon after.
