Fiat India starts taking bookings for Avventura crossover

The highly awaited Fiat Avventura compact crossover is all set to hit the Indian market by October 2014. Pre-launch bookings of the vehicle have already commenced. Interested buyers can book the car either through Fiat's toll free number or through the company's official website.

Pricing

Fiat has not yet revealed the official price of this compact crossover, but we expect it to be available between Rs 6 -8 lakh.

Dealership display models of the Fiat Avventura will hit showrooms sometime towards the end of September 2014.

Exteriors

As mentioned by us in an earlier story, the Avventura, based on the Fiat Punto Evo, is equipped with new projector headlights, roof rails, an exposed spare wheel and body cladding.

Interiors

Interior changes on the new crossover include roll and tilt gauges and contrast stitching.

Engine

Mechanically, the car would get its engines from the Punto Evo. these will be both petrol and diesel powertrains, whereby the petrol version will come with a 1.4 litre T-jet engine. On the other hand, the diesel will be the popular 1.3 litre fiat Multijet. Fiat claims that the diesel version will be capable of delivering a fuel efficiency of 20.3 kmpl.

Fiat Avventura is expected to give tough competition to other vehicles in this segment, namely Volkswagen Cross Polo, Toyota Etios Cross and even the Ford EcoSport.
