Fake Raj Thackeray profile pops up online
The Shivaji Park police have registered an FIR against unidentified persons for creating a fake profile of Maharashtra Navnirman Sena leader Raj Thackeray. The fake profiles have shown up on Twitter, Facebook and Orkut.
According to a complaint registered with the police, the trolls operating the profile were posting commenting on several issues, sending friend requests and chatting with people. The complaint stated that a similar case was brought to the notice of the police in March this year but no action was taken.
"We found out about Raj saheb's fake profile from our workers that there was some unknown person was operating the profile and commenting on various issues and chatting with people. We realised that the profile was fake because Raj sahib doesn't have any social media account," said Sandip Deshpande, MNS corporator from Dadar.

A complaint has also been submitted to the cyber police station at Bandra Kurla Complex. The police said that they have registered a case under relevant sections of the Information Technology Act. No one has been booked yet.
