Medical practitioners in Bihar called for the government to intervene in the issue of Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) MP Pappu Yadav's diktat to fix their consultation fees.

At an emergency meeting convened in Patna in protest of the Madhepura MP's diktat, the state unit of the Indian Medical Association (IMA) and the Bihar Health Services Association (BHSA) urged Chief Minister Jitan Ram Manjhi, health minister Ramdhani Singh and other senior officials to intervene while threatening to launch a state-wide agitation.
