Non-bank lender, Australian First Mortgage has appointed a new business manager for NSW in its commitment to raise its profile in the industry and provide top service to its broker network.

The new position has been filled by Rob Legge – a promotion for Legge as he has been with the lender for two and a half years, where he has distinguished himself as a credit manager in the lender’s robust credit department.

Prior to joining AFM, Legge held positions in Mortgageport, ING Direct and IMB Ltd. He has had a 30 year relationship with the mortgage industry, with the last 20 focussed primarily on the third-party space. He has also been a DLA holder in credit teams in a number of organisations over the past six years.

Legge says he hopes he can offer a point of difference and be a vital part in achieving success for his clients.

“The key thing I want to achieve in the new role is to become an integral part of the success profile of my business partners,” he said.

“By providing a highly personalised level of service; combining the benefits of product facilitation and relevance along with the knowledge I’ve gained as a credit manager.”

AFM’s managing director David White said Legge’s appointment will continue to raise the AFM profile in the industry.

“We believe the key to a successful BDM is product knowledge and Rob’s credit experience makes him the ideal candidate for his new role. We’re excited about offering him new challenges and broadening his experience. With the rollout of a host of new product initiatives planned for the rest of the year, his promotion is well timed,” he said.
