NAGPUR: As many as five city shuttlers will represent Maharashtra team in the forthcoming National School Games.
The DSO Inter-School State badminton tournament and trials to pick the Maharashtra squad concluded at the Divisional Sports Complex in Nashik on Wednesday.
Centre Point School, Katol Road, duo Rohan Gurbani and Sudhanshu Bhure have found berths in the U-14 team.
Upcoming shuttler Sourabh Kerhalkar of Somalwar Nikalas School did well in the trials to clinch the berth in the U-17 boys side.
Sourabh defeated Thane’s Aman Farogh Sanjay and Nashik’s Ajinkya Patharkar to qualify for the state team.
Bhavans’ Rashi Lambe and Malvika Bansod of CPS, Dabha were selected in the U-17 and U-14 teams, respectively.
Nagpur players in state team:
U-14 boys: Rohan Gurbani, Sudhanshu Bhure (Centre Point School, Katol Road).
U-17 boys: Sourabh Kerhalkar (Somalwar Nikalas School).
U-14 girls: Malvika Bansod (CPS, Dabha).
U-17 girls: Rashi Lambe (BVM, Civil Lines).
