September 18, 2014

Once again the Bermuda Cricket Board [BCB] will be working with the families of players [both boys and girls] in the Academy program to assist in creating opportunities for placements.

A spokesperson said, “The BCB has already created a major opportunity for Delray Rawlins at Bede’s and will be assisting further candidates.

“The BCB has also partnered with Felsted School to provide an open opportunity for a Cricket Masterclass trials for all interested young players from ages 11 to 17 on Saturday 27 September at Berkeley Institute Nets, 11.30am-2.30pm offered by Jason Gallian, Felsted’s Director of Cricket and former England player. Register with the BCB by calling 292 8958 or email info@cricket.bm”

President of the BCB, Lloyd Fray stated, “I would like to encourage all parents and players to attend the UK Schools Fair, September 24 and 25 at the Fairmont Southampton. This is an excellent opportunity for parents and students to explore some of the fantastic academic, sporting and cultural opportunities some of these schools have available.

“A number of Bermuda’s elite cricketers such as Delray Rawlins and Jordan Smith have secured scholarships to be able to attend schools in which they get excellent academic education and cricket opportunities. ”
