It’s not often that Jaipurites turn up in huge numbers for a play, but Adhe Adhure was recently staged at Ravindra Manch to a packed auditorium. In fact, due to limited capacity of the theatre, organizers had to struggle to accommodate people.
Organised by Jaipur Citizen Forum, Mohan Rakesh’s famous play featured veteran theatre actors Lillete Dubey and Mohan Agashe, and focused on a woman’s longing for love and security.
Lillete played Savitri, a middle-aged woman trying to find love after a failed marriage. “She portrayed the emotions and feelings of a woman who is going through emotional turmoil beautifully. I enjoyed every bit of it,” said Rina Bhandari, a theatre lover. Lillete’s daughter Ira was also part of the play, and the mother-daughter duo were a huge hit with the audience.
