GES Launches Expresso Mobile App

2014-09-18 11:59 ET - News Release

The most comprehensive app in the industry transforms the exhibitor experience

LAS VEGAS, Sept. 18, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Global Experience Specialists (GES), a leading global event marketing company, announced it has launched its mobile app for Expresso, GES' premier online management tool for exhibitors. The Expresso mobile app is the most comprehensive app in the industry, allowing exhibitors to manage their exhibit experience from wherever they happen to be.

"We spent a lot of time doing empathy interviews with exhibitors to really understand what they go through to exhibit at a show," said GES' Global VP, Digital Product Development Steve Gebhart. He and his team used a process called Design Thinking, founded by David Kelley of IDEO. "GES has sent several of us through intensive training at the Stanford d.school to learn this incredibly innovative and creative process.  It made all the difference in developing this app, and gave us the knowledge to focus 100% on what exhibitors need. "

The app includes features that exhibitors need at show site, and left out other features in the desktop that are no longer contextually relevant. "This allowed us to make a very streamlined app so exhibitors can get what they need quickly and avoid standing in line," continued Gebhart. He and his team also made a key discovery that often times the exhibitor at the show isn't always the person who placed the original order for booth materials. "If I'm an exhibitor at show site but didn't make the original order, I may not know if we ordered chairs, for example. With the Expresso mobile app, you can set up an account to see all of the ordered products and services so you know what to expect in your booth. That is a big benefit and like nothing else out there," said Gebhart.

Some other key features exclusive to the Expresso mobile app are the ability to order last minute items, and retrieve invoices. "This is just the first version," said Gebhart. "There are so many other great features on the way."

The Expresso app, available on the Apple App Store or Google Play Store, will soon also be available on the Windows Mobile Store and will make a vast difference in the overall experience exhibitors have at show site.
