Kyle Gallner (“American Sniper”) and Adam Nee (“Drunk History”) are starring in the comedic thriller “Band of Robbers,” based on the Mark Twain books “The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn” and “The Adventures of Tom Sawyer.”

The film, which is wrapping production, is directed by brothers Adam and Aaron Nee (“The Last Romantic”).

Producers are John Will for Torn Sky Entertainment and Rick Rosenthal for Whitewater Films along with Matt Ratner and Arun Kumar. Nick Morton, Bert Kern, Tims Johnson, John and Margo Miller, Matthew Gray Gubler, and Noah Lang are exec producing.

Gubler, Hannibal Buress, Melissa Benoist, Eric Christian Olsen, Daniel Edward Mora and Stephen Lang also star.

The story re-imagines Twain’s characters as grown-ups in a modern-day setting. Gallner plays petty criminal Huck Finn and Nee portrays corrupt cop Tom Sawyer, who form the “Band of Robbers” by recruiting their misfit friends, launching them all down a dangerous path. Benoist plays Becky Thatcher and Lang is ‘”Injun Joe,” a hardened criminal obsessed with Native American culture.
