Narayanapur in Yadgir district receives highest rainfall of 155.5mm

Narayanapur in Shorapur taluk of Yadgir district recorded maximum rainfall of 155.5mm in Karnataka in the last 24-hours up to 8.30am on September 18. Shettikeri hobli in Chikkanayakanahalli taluk of Tumkur district recorded maximum temperature of 36.6°C on September 17 at 1.45pm.

MANGALORE: Narayanapur in Shorapur taluk of Yadgir district recorded maximum rainfall of 155.5mm in Karnataka in the last 24-hours up to 8.30am on September 18. Shettikeri hobli in Chikkanayakanahalli taluk of Tumkur district recorded maximum temperature of 36.6°C on September 17 at 1.45pm. Javali hobli in Mudigere taluk of Chikmagalur district recorded lowest minimum temperature of 16.1°C on September 18 at 2.45am.

The maximum temperature fell at few places over South interior Karnataka. However they rose at many places over coastal Karnataka and so at few places over Malnad region and changed little over remaining parts of the state. The minimum temperature changed little over the state. More than 90% relative humidity has been recorded in 26% geographical area in the state. Less than 25% of relative humidity has been recorded in 0% geographical area in the state.
Rainfall over the state is considered as isolated since 23% of hoblis and gram panchayats recorded rainfall of =2.5mm. Heavy rain was recorded in two gram panchayats, rather heavy in nine gram panchayats, moderate rain in 252 GPs, light rain in 142 GPs, very light rain in 236 GPs each; and no rain in remaining 1,281 GPs.
Karnataka for the period from September 12 to September 18 recorded deficit rainfall of 31%. Against normal weighted average rainfall of 35.4mm in south-interior, north-interior, malnad and coastal parts, state recorded rainfall of 24.4mm. For 24-hours period ending 8.30am on September 18, four geographical regions received 3.2mm actual weighted average rainfall against normal weighted average rainfall of 6.2mm, a 48% deficit departure from normal.
