Surat techies develop app to store social media data
SURAT: Cellphone users often complain that when they change their instrument or lose it, all their social media data is gone forever. It is difficult to recover Facebook, WhatsApp, Hike, We Chat and other social media data, they say.
However, a few young software developers from Surat have developed a software application that will help you save all your social media data.

This App named ?Social Archive' once downloaded into your cellphone will save all your data, pictures and videos. It can also save all your messages. Social media users can download it free of cost from Google play.
The users would have to put the data in backup facility regularly. The data can be stored directly in the archive of the App by pressing the archive button when using Facebook or WhatsApp. When a user buys a new cellphone, he needs to download the App and press the restore button to get back his or her social media data. The App was launched on September12, 2014. The group has its copyrights. Rohit Jain, one of the Social Archive developers, told TOI, "It is an android application and at least 5 million downloads are expected in the next few months all over the world."
Other members of the group who developed the App are: Mitesh Panchal, Junaid Ansari and Paresh Patil. The group claims it took them three months to develop Social Archive. All are software professionals and between 27 to 30 years of age.
