A UAE-based online retailer has launched pre-orders for the iPhone 6 and is promising delivery on September 20, almost a week before the official launch of iPhone 6 and 6 Plus in the market.

It is not just the ratiler, there are multiple listings on various classifieds including that has put out the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus with prices staring from Dh3,500 to Dh6,000 and promising delivery on September 20.

UAE telecom operators du and etisalat have announced pre-orders for the new iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus from September 19.

The online retailer has listed nine different variants of the iPhone 6 models that you can currently pre-order from their website.

But there is a cost involved in getting it early. While the actual retail price of an iPhone 6 on the Apple store is Dh2,599, The retailer has priced the same device at Dh4,399, a premium of Dh1,800 - an amount if you save, can buy you an Apple Watch when it releases early next year.

A 64GB model, which is priced at Dh2,999 on the Apple store can be pre-ordered for Dh4,849, while a 128GB device is priced at Dh5,349, a cool Dh1,950 more than the price for a similar device listed on the UAE Apple store website.

You, however, get some additional features by paying the extra amount – a warranty, which covers your device against electronic breakdown, accidental damage, cracked screen, etc.

Explaining the rationale, the retailer told Emirates 24|7 that it is purely based on supply and demand.

“Right now there is a supply issue. The device is not available here in the UAE and we have it. At this point all the units are coming from Apple retail stores in other markets, where it is being released on September 19,” he said.

“I can tell you quite honestly that 95 per cent of the margin is used to clear the supply chain payments. Once something new launches, we don’t get any profits. It's only when the product gets older that we sort out the supply chain and start making some profit,” he added.

When asked about the response so far, he said, “It is very good. We have already received quite a few pre-orders from the UAE and other GCC countries as well. There is a segment of customers who want the device as soon as possible and don’t mind paying some extra amount for it. They are the ones we are catering to,” he added.
