Suitor killed woman

NEW DELHI: Police on Wednesday said it has arrested the youth detained in a case of murder of a 22-year-old woman at Buddha Jayanti Park on Saturday night. TOI had reported on Tuesday that the suspect had been rounded up for interrogation.
The accused, identified as Golu, was the one whom the woman had called last. Police have recovered the mobile of the girl which he had taken away.Golu had been in touch with the woman for many months. He was her classmate till Class XII and they drifted apart as the woman did not study further, a source said. During interrogation, he said the girl refused his marriage proposal and said she wanted to marry the man chosen by her family. The accused told police that, on September 10, the woman had left home to see him for a last meeting during which he stabbed her fatally and also, for good measure, strangled her.
