Airports Authority of India (AAI) Chairman Alok Sinha on Thursday inspected Gannavaram airport and collected more information from the officials about the proposed expansion plans of the airport.

The team’s inspection assumed significance as the State government in coordination with Centre is planning to develop Gannavaram airport on par with international standards.

A four-member team led by Mr. Sinha examined the runway and other areas, and collected details about the land required for the expansion of the airport.

Mr. Sinha said the Airports Authority of India had chalked out an action plan for the construction of terminal building to meet the increasing demand of the passengers.
