When Astros second baseman Jose Altuve broke Craig Biggio’s single-season record with his 211th hit on Tuesday night, defensive end J.J. Watt tweeted. “Altuve. #Beast.”

Before practice today, the 6-5 Watt was asked about the 5-5 Altuve and his record-setting performance.

“Craig Biggio is a legend, and it was cool for Biggio to be there to see everything,” he said. “I’ve always respected Jose. Everybody kind of writes off the small guy, but he’s so good and so consistent, he just goes to work every day and does his job. I’m happy for him.”
