West Ham United striker Diafra Sakho has vowed to give his best for the club and is looking forward to his partnership with Enner Valencia.

The 24-year-old striker joined the Hammers from Metz last month and seems to have settled in well at the Premier League club.

Sakho played an important role in the London outfit’s 2-2 draw with Hull City at the KC Stadium in the league on Monday, as it was his shot that Curtis Davies diverted into his own net.

The Senegal international was paired with another summer signing Valencia, who scored for the Hammers, and Sakho is looking forward to playing alongside the Ecuadorian this season.

"Since I've been at the club, the staff and players have helped me to settle, and the best way to pay back the confidence the club have put in me is on the pitch,” he told West Ham’s official website. “I feel good and when you feel good it makes it easier on the pitch.

“I'm going to do my best to score as many goals as I can to help us achieve our aims. I hope this is the start of a good and long story at West Ham United.

"In training we (Valencia and I) work together, and even if we don't speak the same language yet we have the football language.

“It's good for me to play with Enner's type of player - it worked on Monday and we'll keep working hard in training. I'll learn more and we will get better in the future."
