PPP pays rich tribute to Mir Murtaza Bhutto on 20th anniversary

Karachi. 20.9.2016: Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) Sindh Coordination Committee chief, Nisar Ahmed Khohru, who is also Senior Minister in Sindh Cabinet, said Mir Murtaza Bhutto had laid his life for the sake of democracy. Enemies of Pakistan and enemies of democracy were behind his cold blooded murder.

He was addressing a ceremony held in memory of slain Mir Murtaza Bhutto on his 20th anniversary at the People’s Secretariat in Karachi, Tuesday.

He said that Bhutto family had struggled for bringing change in lives of the poor and for raising their social and economic status. The Bhuttos had also struggled for the riddance of repressive system and offered their lives for the mission they started.

He said that PPP is the only dynamic force in the country that has the potential and ability to safeguard the rights of the masses and keep the chain of the federation intact.

Khohru paid rich tribute to slain Mir Murtaza Bhutto and held him as a brave man saying that he never compromised on principals but chose to fight against the forces that were repressing the masses. Hence, he deserves rich tribute and commemoration.

Speaking on the occasion, MNA Dr Nafeesa Shah said that the only fault of Mir Murtaza Bhutto was that he was son of Zulfiquar Ali Bhutto, brother of Benazir Bhutto and that he only wanted to see the masses would enjoy their rights in true meanings.

She said that Mir Murtaza Bhutto only wanted equality among the people of the country and end to classes with equal rights to prosper and grow and for these reasons he was removed.

PPP Sindh Coordination Committee member Rashid Husain Rabbani while speaking on the occasion said that Mir Murtaza Bhutto was the symbol of struggle and wanted to see Pakistan as a liberal, progressive country. However, the forces of repression feared him and silenced his voice.

Senator Ajiz Dhamra said that Mir Murtaza Bhutto had challenged and revolted against the Establishment and advocated the sentiments of the masses on the pattern of his father and for that reason he was murdered.

He said the present condition of the masses in Pakistan could have changed provided Mir Murtaza Bhutto had lived till now as he was the icon of democracy and always believed in democratic system of government.
