INDORE: Sadhvi Pragya Singh Thakur, a key accused in RSS pracharak Sunil Joshi murder case, failed to appear before a Dewas court on account of ill health on Tuesday.
RSS activist Sunil Joshi, a suspect in Samjhauta Express blast case, was shot dead in Dewas in Madhya Pradesh on December 29, 2007. NIA charged Sadhvi Pragya Singh Thakur, who is suffering from cancer, and three others including Rajendra Choudhary, Lokesh Sharma and Jitendra Sharma for murder of Sunil Joshi.

While accused Lokesh Sharma and Rajendra Choudhary, currently lodged in a jail in Haryana in connection with Samjhauta Express blast 2007 were produced before the court, NIA which is investigating the case, had filed supplementary charge-sheet and charges will be framed against the accused in next hearing on September 27.
According to NIA chargesheet, Rajendra and Lokesh had fired at Joshi. Jitendra had arranged the pistol and gave it to Balbir.
Earlier, NIA stated in its charge sheet that Joshi’s ‘ill-intention’ towards Pragya Singh Thakur, who is also a key accused in 2008 Malegaon blast, and business rivalries with others, had triggered the murder. As per a newspaper report, Sadhvi got Joshi eliminated as she was wary of Joshi’s sexual advances and also scared that the plan for Malegaon blasts might leak.
