Agente provocatrice 'Fifi' used in WW2

A new file released by the National Archives has confirmed the use of an 'agente provocatrice', known as Fifi, in World War Two operations.

The woman, whose real name was Marie Christine Chilver, was employed to test whether trainee agents were able to keep secrets.

Jonathan Cole, a researcher at the National Archives, told the Today programme about her role.

First broadcast on BBC Radio 4's Today programme on Wednesday 17 September.
