RAJKOT:
Yunus Malek, 66, a resident of
Talgajarda village near Mahuva in
Bhavnagar district, is busy making preparations for fulfilling his dream that has become a reality because of religious preacher
Morari Bapu.
Morari Bapu has come forward to help Yunus and his wife
Subhan, perform
Haj. The couple will be leaving for the pilgrimage on September 26 from Ahmedabad. Both Yunus and Morari bapu hail from the same village.
The latter has decided to bear all the expenses of this couple's pilgrimage.
"Bapu came like a 'farishta' (angel) for us. I would never have dreamt of going on Haj if he had not been there," Yunus told TOI over phone. He works as a watchman at an onion dehydration unit in Mahuva. Earlier, he used to sell candy for his livelihood.
"Morari Bapu has played the role of Krishna for his Sudama (Yunus)," he said.
Yunus had expressed his desire to go on Haj two years ago when he had met Morari Bapu. "Morari Bapu called me up and offered all help to Yunus. The couple will leave for Jeddah on September 26. The arrangement has been made through a private operator since there was no chance of Yunus going through the government Haj quota as it would take years," said Saiyad Mehendi Bapu, a religious leader from Mahuva. He said the gesture has played an important role in bringing the two communities together.
