Fall is almost here, and trout fishing has picked up along Front Range reservoirs. Chatfield, Arvada, Aurora, Boyd, Georgetown and Pinewood all are doing better for trout. Flies are a good choice, but most methods are working to a degree. Urban ponds continue to be a good bet for bluegill and bass. Fly-fishers should not overlook the evening bite. Rivers and streams are in fantastic shape with good flow, yet low and clear enough for great wading. Up north, the Poudre River is a good bet. Terrestrials are a good choice, as are streamers, especially as browns are in prespawn. Kokanee have yet to start running at Green Mountain, Wolford and Elevenmile reservoirs, but the trout action makes the trip worthwhile.
