'I would love to work on Xpose again', says new mum Michelle Doherty
With Karen Koster heading off to have her first baby with hubbie John McGuire this December, Xpose will have to cast out the net for her replacement.
Although they have just signed up new addition Peter O'Riordain, the show's anchor Karen is expected to take about six months off for her maternity leave in the New Year.
And new mum Michelle Doherty has revealed how she would "love" to work on TV3's showbiz programme again.
The 36-year-old went down a storm with viewers of the entertainment show while filling in for Aisling O'Loughlin for six months after she had her second baby.
Ironically, Michelle then discovered she was pregnant herself and she and partner Mark O'Shea welcomed in their adorable baby boy Max last month.
Although living back in London, she hasn't ruled out anything when it comes to her future, including a return to the TV3 show that recently underwent a massive revamp and is now transmitted live.
"I loved every minute of it," she said. "It was really tough but a great experience. I loved every part of it and learned so many new skills as well.
"Meeting the girls and building up the friendship with them has been so good. I would love to work on Xpose again."
In the meantime though, she's more than happy to revel in domestic baby bliss with her new addition as she shelves all work projects to concentrate on motherhood.
"I'm loving it so far. I have always wanted to be a mom and this is a really special time for me so I don't want to rush that away," she said.
"Max will only be this size for so long and it is important to spend time with him.
"I believe what we put into him now will reflect on him later on. I'm not really sure how long I will stay off work, I will play it by ear.
"If something came up, I would have to think about it but for now, Maxi is my priority and he is taking the centre stage. I work and live between Dublin and London and that was all very well before he was born but I have him to consider now."
Donegal-born Michelle, a former Phantom FM presenter, said that she and Mark also plan to get married at some point in the future.
However, they have recently bought a house in London together and said that tying the knot isn't high on their list of priorities right now and are happy to take things one step at a time.
