JOHOR BARU: Cigarette smuggling syndicates are using marker buoys located along the Straits of Malacca to navigate and smuggle in their goods into the country.

The buoys, which are used for commercial ship navigation through the straits, is being used by tekongs (skipper of the boat) who operate in the cover of darkness at night.
