No. 25 Victoria Azarenka defeated KimikoDate-Krumm in three sets to set up a big second round match against No. 10 Ana Ivanovic. Only one seed, No. 22 Alize Cornet, remains after two days at the Guangzhou International after five seeds lost on Tuesday, including top seed Sam Stosur and No. 3 seed Sloane Stephens.
