CHANDIGARH: Amid efforts to unite Haryana khap leaders to back a political party in the forthcoming assembly elections, leaders of two social outfits - Dahiya khap and Sonipat 360 khap - have announced their support to chief minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda.
A group of khaps have called a meeting in Jind on September 28 to decide which party they would support in the polls.
The state has around 300 khaps and many of them face factionalism.
Sonipat 360 khap leader Rajender Khatri and Dahiya khap leader Surender Dahiya said on Tuesday that they would support Hooda for the developmental works carried out during his tenure.
Meanwhile, the khap leaders have started raising their voice against politicization of these community-based bodies.
A group of khap leaders on Monday met in Jind to announce that they don't have association with any political party.
