Music Theatre of Connecticut (MTC) will be celebrating the grand opening of The New MTC with a gala fundraiser on Saturday, September 27 at 7pm. The gala will take place at The New MTC, located at 509 Westport Avenue in Norwalk (behind Jones New York and Nine West Outlet). All proceeds will benefit MTC and its programming. The New MTC Grand Opening Gala Fundraiser will feature a fabulous wine tasting by at Harry's Wine & Liquor Market, and entertainment will include a special performance by Broadway legend Andrea McArdle as well as MTC alumni Mia Gentile (Off-Broadway's "Forbidden Broadway"), MTC alumni Adam Kaplan (Broadway's "Newsies") and other surprise Broadway guests. The event will be hosted by Scott Bryce (TV's "As the World Turns").

Andrea McArdle first captured the hearts of theatergoers when she originated the title role in the mega-musical "Annie." Since then, she has starred in several Broadway musicals, in New York, nationally and internationally. She has performed in concert halls from Carnegie Hall to the Las Vegas Hilton to the Hong Kong Philharmonic as well as several television appearances including Johnny Carson, Merv Griffin and Dinah Shore shows and PBS concerts from the Kennedy Center and Carnegie Hall. She has honed her craft by working with some of the legends of the entertainment industry including Ethel Merman, Liza Minnelli, Julie Andrews, Bob Hope, Liberace and Frank Sinatra, to name a few.

The New MTC boasts a state-of-the-art black box theatre, rehearsal studios, scenic and costume design shops, dressing rooms, and beautiful lobby and public spaces. MTC is Fairfield County's premier provider of musical theatre performance and training. MTC MainStage produces award-winning professional productions, and MTC School of Performing Arts offers conservatory-style training for students age four through high school. Founded in 1987 by Kevin Connors and Jim Schilling, MTC is a 501(c)3 non-profit arts organization.
