First Wyscout workshop on player scouting software for QSL clubs [Qatar Tribune]


(Qatar Tribune Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) iKOLI vICTOR DOHA The Qatar Stars League Football Development Department and Italian football scouting company, Wyscout, organised the first of three workshops at the Four Seasons Hotel on Monday to familiarise the 14 QSL clubs with a new player scouting software.



The new software will help the clubs use a state-of-the art database that currently covers over 50 countries with over 200, 000 players.

The workshop's main objective was to present and explain all the technical aspects of the player scouting software platform provided by Wyscout. The workshop was presented by two Wyscout representatives Carlo Reggiani and Alessandro Cogozzo.


The workshop primarily focused on three aspects\-- how to use Wyscout for scouting; how to use Wyscout in order to improve networking between clubs; how to use Wyscout to study upcoming opponents. It also presented other useful features that the clubs will be able to utilize to their advantage, such as medical files, transfer news and the price of players.

Ahmed Al Harami, Chief of Competition and Football Development and Miguel Heitor, Football Development Supervisor were integral to the new agreement which was signed with Wyscout and were both present at the workshop.

The QSL officer gave credence to the league's official video player scouting and player data software partner during the official signing recently.

"It's one of the biggest companies in the world for finding new talents and recruiting players. The software means that any QSL club can log in and see current players from around the world. This agreement will directly help the clubs and we encourage them to use it to recruit new signings.

Wyscout has a comprehensive database and the power of the software is quite impressive." All 14 QSL clubs attended the workshop, specifically the football directors, team managers, sport officers, head coaches, assistant coaches and performance analysts.

Among the big name coaches in attendance was Al Arabi's Dan Petrescu, Lekhwiya's Michael Laudrup and Al Sadd' s Hussein Ammouta.

The programme is part of a holistic approach by the League that also includes Prozone and the new GPS Tracking System, that enables all 14 clubs to have the latest and best methods available to improve and develop their respective teams and the league.
