Little Girl With Heart Disease Sings ‘Lean On Me’ To Thank Hospital For Saving Her Life — Try Not To Cry!

Grace Lee is nine years old and since she was born, she has been a patient at Alder Hey Children’s Hospital in Liverpool, England. Little Grace was born with heart disease and lung disease. The reason she is alive today all comes down to the amazing work of the doctors and staff at Alder Hey.

Grace has already endured several open heart surgeries at the hospital, as well as numerous other procedures. So while the little girl’s heart may not be healthy, it certainly is big. In this video, you’ll see how Grace said a huge thank you to the staff at Alder Hey for saving her life — again and again.

“Here she is doing what she loves most — singing,” said her beaming mother, Kara, when she posted this video. “Grace performed this song only days after hearing it for the first time!”

The song is the Bill Withers classic “Lean On Me,” a No. 1 hit from 1972, an the theme from the 1989 tearjerking movie of the same name. But this video of Grace singing the song may be the biggest tearjerker of all — and not simply for Grace’s lovely rendition of the timeless tune.

Look at the supports he receives. That’s a chorus of 800 people backing her up, many of them staff at the hospital, who love Grace as much as she loves them.

So watch this video of “Lean On Me” sung by Grace Lee and try not to cry. Bet you can’t.
