ERODE: A device that resembled a country bomb was found in the Nachiappa Street in Erode on Tuesday morning, triggering tension in the area.
A passerby who noticed the device, which had a wick and was covered in jute thread, alerted the Erode police. The police rushed to the spot and inspected it.
Later, they alerted the Bomb Detection and Disposal Squad (BDDS). The BDDS that checked the device ruled out that it was a country bomb.

The police said a prankster might have left it on the road. They registered a case and were searching for the prankster.
