Ai Ai delas Alas admits relationship with 20-year-old DLSU athlete

MANILA, Philippines—After her traumatic marriage with a businessman, actress Ai Ai delas Alas has admitted her romantic relationship with a 20-year old De La Salle University (DLSU) badminton player.
According to a Philippine Entertainment Portal (PEP) report, delas Alas formally introduced her boyfriend in a birthday party held over the weekend.
The 49-year old actress introduced her boyfriend, Gerard Sibayan, to her showbiz friends during the birthday of director Wenn Deramas last September 13, the report said.
Asked about their wedding plans, the actress quickly dismissed the idea.
“Ay, hindi! Waley, waley. Ayaw, ayaw! (No, there is none, none. I don’t like! I don’t like)” she said.
The actress described why she chose to have a boyfriend younger her age.
“Okey na sa mas bata, kesa naman sa may asawa. O, ‘di ba, naninira ng pamilya! (It’s OK to have a younger lover than someone married. No to homewrecker),” she said.
“Ayoko nung matanda na may asawa. Saka hiwalay, ‘tapos may mga anak pa! Napakakumplikado! Pakikisamahan mo pa yung anak. Pakikisamahan mo pa yung nanay ng anak (I don’t like someone old and married. And separated, with kids. It’s very complicated. You have to adjust yourself and befriend the kids, and the mother of the kids),’ she added.
On Sunday, September 14, Sibayan posted photos on his facebook account photos of him and delas Alas.
On Monday, Sibayan confirmed to PEP her relationship with the 49-year old actress.
According to earlier reports, Delas Alas did not want to reveal the identity of her new boyfriend but said that he was younger and good-looking.
Delas Alas was previously married to businessman Jed Salang.
