Livermore Falls man up for appointment to RSU 73 school board [Sun Journal, Lewiston, Maine]


(Sun Journal (Lewiston, ME) Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) Sept. 16--LIVERMORE FALLS -- Selectmen on Tuesday will consider appointing Bert Poisson as one of the town's representatives to the RSU 73 Board of Directors.

Selectmen will meet at 6:30 p.m. on Sept. 16 at the Town Office.

If selectmen agree, Poisson will fill the position vacated by former Director Carmen Cullen until the next election in June. He then has the option to run for a three-year term.

Poisson, a veteran of the U.S. Air Force, graduated from Jay High School in 1996 and the University of Maine at Farmington with a degree in psychology and a concentration in special education.

He previously worked at Jay High School as a educational technician and behavior technician. He also was a program manager at the Glenn Stratton Learning Center at Good Will Hinckley.



He worked as a caseworker for the state in Child Protective Services and as a special education teacher at the W.G. Mallett School in Farmington.

Poisson said he is a full-time graduate student seeking his master's degree in social work. He previously served as a coach in Jay and is still very active coaching youth sports for Wilton Recreation, Wilton youth baseball and Mt. Blue Area Youth Football.


He has two boys, ages 15 and 9. He lives in Livermore Falls with his girlfriend of more than eight years, Darice Dubreuil.
