A Vulcan mom, charged with abducting her two daughters from their school in May, has been granted bail.

Police started looking for Trina Meisel, 49, and her two daughters after the girls failed to return from a recess period at their elementary school in Brant, Alberta.

An AMBER Alert was issued in Alberta and B.C. when officials became concerned for the welfare of the children.

A week later, Meisel and her daughters were found at a campground in Boston Bar, 150 km northwest of Vancouver.

The girls were unharmed and returned to family.

A judge ruled on Monday that Meisel would be released on a $5,000 bail. She will remain on house arrest until her hearing next month to determine if she will undergo a psych assessment.

The assessment will determine whether or not she can be found criminally responsible for her actions.
