A seven-year-old girl allegedly died after receiving treatment from a quack in Gudiya Talab village in Shankargarh on Sunday night. An FIR has been lodged against the accused with Shankargarh police. He is absonding.

ALLAHABAD: A seven-year-old girl allegedly died after receiving treatment from a quack in Gudiya Talab village in Shankargarh on Sunday night. An FIR has been lodged against the accused with Shankargarh police. He is absconding.
Laxmi, daughter of Samajhdar Ranjan was suffering from viral fever since September 13. She was taken to private medical practitioner Awadhnarayan Viswakarma who had recently opened a clinic named as Chandsi Dawakhana in the village.
He reportedly administered here few drops of a liquid. Within an hour, the girl died.
The enraged parents and other villagers took the girl's body at the police station, where the cops lodged an FIR against the quack. Awadhnarayan escaped. "The accused used to diagnose and treat villagers in the same clinic. He is absconding and investigations are on," said the official.This was the second case of death by a quack. Earlier, in Handia, a seven-year-old girl died after treatment by an alleged quack.
