Engineers’ Day was celebrated in connection with the 154th birth anniversary of world famous engineer and Bharat Ratna recipient, Mokshagundam Visvesvaraya, here on Monday. On the occasion, engineers and officials garlanded his statue on the Government Polytechnic College for Boys premises.

Project Director, IKP, P. Venkatesham, and Superintending Engineer (Irrigation) Syed Shakeel Ul Rahman attended the function as chief guest and guest of honour respectively. College principal D. Rangaiah presided.

The organisers honoured six toppers of different departments of Polytechnic of 2014 by presenting them medals. The medallists are: Syed Ilyas Hussain, Mandala Venkatakrishna, Ch. Vinodkumar, K. Saikrishna, Bompalli Shivani and Mandala Mahesh.
