Harness Racing SA will hold the SA Horse of the Year Luncheon at Globe Derby on Sunday 9th November commencing at 12.30 in the Paceway Restaurant. Details of ticket prices and bookings will be available shortly.
Following a meeting of the members of the Horse of the Year Panel, the Finalists in each category have been determined. Panel members will now cast their votes in each category and the winners will be announced at the function. The members will also vote for the SA Horse of the Year, which will come from one of the category winners. The Finalists are:

There have been some changes to the criteria this year, the main one being that eligibility for all categories has been standardised, ie as per the previous 4yo & older category. The eligibility for all categories now reads as follows:
“ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA
To be eligible a horse must meet two of the following criteria:
- Be SA owned
- Be SA trained
- Have raced on five (5) occasions at race meetings conducted in South Australia during the 2013-14 season
DEFINITIONS -
- "OWNED" Means a horse, which in 50% of its winning performance has raced in the ownership or part-ownership of a person who appears on the South Australian electoral roll.
- "TRAINED" Means a horse, which in 50% of its winning performances has been trained by a trainer licensed by HRSA Ltd.”
