United States : DATA Center in Chicago launched by Windstream [TendersInfo (India)](TendersInfo (India) Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) Windstream Hosted Solutions, a division of Windstream Corporation ( WIN ), launched its newest data center in Chicago on Sep 10. This new center covers across a 20,000-square-foot facility with over 15,600 square feet of data center space and is outfitted to facilitate Windstream's new EMC(R)-powered storage services. The facility is likely to deal with the rising demand for data centers and managed services from customers all over the nation. The unit will in addition lend support to Windstream Hosted Solutions to manage its huge network of cloud computing solutions. This technology helps in improving the efficiency and accessibility of IT resources and applications. Windstream - which at present has above 20 data centers across the U.S. - is more and more investing capital in developing its data center business. Late last year, the company revealed plans to build two data centers in Nashville, TN and Durham, NC - both likely to open this year.
