AIS officers reluctant to work in Nizamabad

IAS and IPS officers are not able to cope up with the political brass

NIZAMABAD: The All India Services (AIS) officers are reluctant to work in Nizamabad district due to wielding of heavy politicial influence by elected representatives.

Supposedly not able to withstand the pressures from political circles, district collector D. Ronald Rose, SP Tarun Joshi, both directly recruited as AIS officers, went on a long leave. Irrespective of the party in the ruling, the AIS officers are hesitating to work here.

The IAS and IPS officers are not able to cope up with the political brass and so hesitating to work in the district for the last few years.

In the last 10 years, most of the period rank promotee officers worked as collectors or SPs in the district.

For their convenience, the political bigwigs had always shown interest in placement of promotee officers in key positions.

Actually, in Nizamabad district, at least 3-4 IPS officers will work as DIG, SP, OSD or ASP.

The district needs three IAS officers to work as collector, joint collector and sub collector. Moreover, at least one IAS/IPS officer should work in Kamareddy or Bodhan revenue divisional headquarters as sub-collector or assistant superintendent of police. However, that has been neglected by the leaders in the last few years.

District collector Ronald Rose was allotted to residuary Andhra Pradesh while SP Tarun Joshi will continue in Telangana state.

In view of the shifting of IPS officers, the SP too might be shifted from the district. Reportedly, he has been working under tremendous pressure from politicos and police higher-ups.

In this background, the SP had gone on personal leave for 10 days and the collector too did the same. The officers reportedly were having a tough time here.
