Minorities thriving in Gujarat, says BJP

Naidu asked the people to work like ‘Team India’ for India’s development.

Guntur: Stating that minorities were thriving in Gujarat, Union minister for urban development M. Venkaiah Naidu on Monday said that the BJP was working for their welfare and this effort was visible in that state.

Mr Naidu participated in the 100-day celebrations of BJP-led NDA government at the Venkateswara Vignana Mandiram.

Addressing BJP activists, he said that the Congress was trying to mislead minorities by constantly repeating the Gujarat riots of 2002. “Congress has been deceiving minorities for the past 50 years,” he charged, and claimed that the gross income of the minorities has increased in Gujarat. He said that while religion was personal, culture belongs to society.

Mr Naidu claimed that NDA government was safe for the country and asked the people to work like ‘Team India’ for India’s development.

BJP state president and MP K. Haribabu, Narasapuram MP G. Gangaraju and other leaders were present.

TTD man joins BJP

The BJP is trying to strengthen its base in Guntur district by attracting leaders of various parties into its fold.

TTD Dharma Prachara Parishad chairman and Tobacco Board vice-president Tadisetti Murali on Monday joined the BJP in the presence of Union minister M. Venkaiah Naidu
