Joburg west runs dry

Suburbs in the West of Joburg were out of water yesterday after an electrical outage disabled a Rand Water pump station in Eikenhof.

Affected areas included Weltevreden Park, Honeydew, Randpark Ridge, Radiokop, Strubensvalley, Littlefalls, Ruimsig and Florida.

By 7pm, Joburg Water tweeted that power and water had been restored.

But a little later a further tweet said "it will take a number of hours before normal supply can be fully restored".

Joburg Water was not available for comment last night.
