The Action in Rural Technologies and Services (ARTS) urged the NTR Trust to study socio-economic conditions of Srikakulam agency areas and help the people in improving the livelihood of tribal people.
ARTS Director N. Sanyasi Rao has given a Power Point presentation to NTR Trust Coordinator Nara Lokesh recently in Hyderabad and urged him to use his good offices for establishment of food processing centres, cold storage facilities to ensure remunerative prices for tribal productions. He said that land distribution in identified areas would ensure decent livelihood to many tribal farmers.
Mr. Sanyasi Rao said that many NGOs were working sincerely but more support was needed from the government and charitable organisations like NTR Trust in helping the downtrodden sections. He said Mr. Lokesh responded positively and expressed his willingness to study the conditions by sending representatives from NTR Trust. He said that all the representatives of voluntary organisations would meet Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu during his visit to the district on September 17 and 18.
