Celebrating the best of South films
Silambarasan aka Simbu charmed one and all with his lover-boy act on stage, Shriya Saran sizzled to some funky numbers, Adah Sharma belly danced her way into many a heart, while rising stars ��� the funky Isha Talwar, the gorgeous Kriti Kharbanda and the exotic Lakshmi Menon��� rocked the stage with their fantastic moves onstage.
Also making their impact onstage were superstars Chiranjeevi, Shivarajkumar, Dileep, Karthik, Sivakarthikeyan and the evergreen Sridevi.
Cheering fans welcomed stars from four Southern film industries to Malaysia at the glitzy and glamorous award ceremony for South Indian cinema. In its third edition, the South Indian International Movie Awards ��� Micromax SIIMA 2014, got bigger, better and bolder than ever.
Spread over two glittering evenings, the filmi extravaganza, which aims at taking South Indian cinema to a global stage, awarded the best talent from the Tamil, Telugu, Kannada and Malayalam film industries. Fans and film lovers from all over Malaysia thronged the venue, the Negara Stadium in Kuala Lumpur, to catch a glimpse of their favourite stars as they walked the
red carpet, which kick-started the glam weekend.
The first evening saw actor Navdeep taking over the reins from Rana Dagubbati to co-host the show along with Shraddha Das.The evening was peppered with some energetic performances by composer Devi Sri Prasad and Pranitha Subhash, as film celebrities gave away the awards for the best from the Telugu and Malayalam film industries.
Day 2 was even more glamourous, with stars basking in the attention of the many Tamil-speaking audiences of Malaysia. As celebrities honoured the best in the Tamil and Kannada film industries, the event also saw a strong Bollywood presence in the form of Boney Kapoor, Neil Nitin Mukesh and Aftab Shivdasani, as well as Bhojpuri superstar Manoj Tiwari,who struck a chord with the guests as he sung a patriotic number.

Shiva Karthik, along with his co-host Pooja, was at his spontaneous best as he involved each of the stars present in humorous dialogues. While the best actors and directors from the
Tamil, Telugu, Kannada and Malayalam industries walked away with top awards, two filmmakers ��� K Raghavendra Rao and K Bhagyaraj ��� were honoured with Lifetime Achievement Awards. Telugu superstar Chiranjeevi was honoured as the Indian Ambassador by dignitaries of the Malaysian Tourism department.
The fun continued with some interesting special awards that included the Youth Icon for Puneeth Rajkumar and Asin, sensational star of South Indian cinema for Sivakarthikeyan, rising star of South Indian cinema to Lakshmi Menon, most popular star on social media for Trisha, most stylish star for Simbu and most popular couple for Amala Paul and Vijay.
