JAMMU, Sept 14: If you are good at making excuses, you don’t have to be good at anything else, so goes adage about people who make excuses, Chief Minister Omar Abdullah is rather good at making excuses and done precisely that, and failed to own up that he has failed miserably to govern, and lead, in this hour of crisis.
These views were expressed by the leaders of State BJP, who returned to Jammu after their three days stay in Kashmir to have on the spot assessment of the post flood situations and the plight of the suffering people what they experienced on visiting submerged Pantha Chowk, Jawahar Nagar, Lal Chowk, Batmallu, Bamina, Rajbagh, Budgam and Anantnag districts besides several other areas.
BJP State Vice President and Kashmir Incharge Ramesh Arora and State Spokesperson Arun Kumar Gupta, while talking to media persons came down heavily on the State Government for its total failure in such a situation.
Ramesh Arora said that the State Government is nowhere to be seen on ground. There are no officials, no rescue and relief efforts by the State Government and whatever is available is only due to the efforts of Army and other forces.
The problems of the marooned people are worsening and getting compounded, because there is no Government visible anywhere in any party of the affected Kashmir Valley, Arora said.
Arun Kumar Gupta, while describing the ground situation said that Government has done zero work.
He said that the worst fear yet to come is stagnant water all over Srinagar, Anantnag, Badgum, Kulgam and other districts, which will pose a very serious condition of uncontrollable epidemic, adding that BJP State leadership has brought this actual position to the knowledge of Central leadership and is being viewed very seriously.
The team was assisted by Ali Mohammed Mir, Central Zone president, Dr Farooq Ahmed Dar, a social activist and Haleema Uri, State Secretary.
