Karimnagar: Poverty is the biggest problem in the life of Ajmeera Laxman, the 18-year-old from Jillelagadda village in Husnabad mandal, who bagged the 120th rank in the medical stream of Eamcet 2014.
He is now desperately looking for financial support to pay for the expenses towards accommodation and purchase of textbooks.
His father, who is mentally challenged, has been bed-ridden for the past few years, and Laxman has already taken a loan of Rs 25,000 to admit his father to an institution.
His mother works as a daily-wage labourer.
“Although, I am eligible for the fee reimbursement scheme, I cannot afford to pay for accommodation and textbooks. I have already taken a loan of Rs 25,000 to admit my father to the Institute of Mental Health in Erragadda. I am looking for a sponsor who will help with the initial fees. Without this aid, I will not get an admission," said Laxman.
He said that he did not take admission into Bachelor of Dental Surgery last year, as he wanted to become a cardiologist.
He secured 120th rank in the reservation category by scoring 105 marks out of 120 in the Eamcet.
