RANCHI: Soon after resignation of Agriculture minister Yogendra Sao, on charges of floating a criminal gang, Jharkhand Tiger Group, opposition has aimed its guns on two more ministers of Hemant Soren cabinet. The two ministers in the eye of storm are Suresh Paswan of RJD and Haji Hussain Ansari of the JMM. Both the ministers have been accused of being hand in gloves with Ranjit Kohli aka Raquibul Hasan and supporting him for flourishing his known-unknown business activities.
Leader of opposition Arjun Munda said that one of the ministers in Hemant Soren cabinet, Chandra Shekhar Dubey was removed because he had levelled charges of corruption against the chief minister and other ministers in the government. “Government should now sack all the tainted ministers if they are not ready to resign,” Munda said.
State BJP spokesperson Pradeep Sinha said that government justified removal of agriculture minister saying that it was necessary for impartial inquiry. “Using same yardstick government should remove Ansari and Paswan to pave way for impartial investigations into the allegations levelled by Tara Shahdeo in the case of domestic violence and forceful conversion, filed against Kohli,” he said.
Sinha further argued that constitutionally government should comprise 12 cabinet ministers and after Sao’s resignation it has lost the constitutional viability. “We understand the state is heading for elections, still government should adhere to constitutional framework for proper functioning or else quit,” he said.
JVM (P) has also demanded resignation of ministers who are yet to be quizzed by police in connection with the Tara Shahdeo case. “The police have approached speaker’s office seeking permission to quiz the ministers whereas the Speaker directed them to the CM saying that ministers are part of executive and not the legislative,” said Pradeep Kumar. He stressed that the chief minister has to take decision about the ministers.
