Croatia to invest EUR 27mn in high-speed internet by end-2015 [IntelliNews - Weekly Reports]


(IntelliNews - Weekly Reports Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) Croatia plans to invest HRK 204mn (EUR 27mn) in high-speed internet by the end of next year, according to the government's strategy for development of broadband internet 2014-2015, quoted by Poslovni daily.



Out of the total amount, HRK 42mn will be invested this year and HRK 161.8mn in 2015. The biggest investment this year, of HRK 20mn, will be in a project of the country's telecoms regulator HAKOM to connect users to high-speed internet.

Some HRK 10mn will be invested this year in the public administration ministry's e-gradjani project, aimed at enabling communication between citizens and the public sector. Some HRK 160mn will be invested in 2014 and 2015 in developing a national fibre optic network by transmission and broadcasting company Odasiljaci i veze (OiV).
