Formula E: Karun Chandhok finishes fifth
NEW DELHI: Karun Chandhok and Mahindra Racing walked away a happy bunch after the first-ever Formula E race in Beijing on Saturday. The team's day began with Karun putting the Indian outfit in fourth position on the starting grid and then finishing in fifth place to bring home 10 points from the opening round.
The team would have more pleased if Karun's teammate Bruno Senna also managed to bring the car home.

Bruno, the nephew of legendary Ayrton Senna, was dogged by technical trouble in qualifying where he failed to set a time. After starting 19th in the race, Bruno crashed out in the very first lap.
An overheating battery hampered his progress at the end of the race though, he lost a couple of places to Bird and Charles Pic in the last two laps. "It was a good race and I was comfortable staying with the leading pack. I passed Sam and was catching Daniel (Abt) but then the battery over heated and I lost a handful of seconds in the final laps which lost me two places," Karun said from Beijing on Saturday.
"We were quick though, our pace overall has been with the leading pack. There's lots of positives to be taken away and some lessons learnt too," he added.
