Various charges: Police book 31 in Rawalpindi

Most of those nabbed were in possession of hashish.

The Rawalpindi police arrested 31 suspected criminals from different areas of the city on Saturday and also recovered over five kilograms of hashish, 69 bottles of liquor, four pistols with 26 rounds, a dagger and 25 litres of petrol from their possession.


According to the Rawalpindi police spokesman, the Naseerabad police held Sadique Shah with the possession of 1,050 grams of hashish and Mukamal Khan for possessing 610 grams hashish.

While the Pirwadhai police also recovered 510 grams of hashish from a suspected drug pusher identified as Ilyas.

The Kalar Syedan police netted Javed with 520 grams of hashish and the Saddar Wah police booked Sajid Ali for possessing 600 grams of hashish.

The Wah Cantt police arrested Abdul Moheed with 500 grams of hashish and the Rawat police recovered 530 grams of hashish from a suspect, identified as Faheem.

Moreover, the Saddar Wah police conducted a raid and recovered 50 bottles of liquor from the custody of a suspected bootlegger, Jahanzaib while the Airport police, acting on a tip-off, raided an illegal petrol agency and arrested Ahmad. The police also confiscated 25 litres of petrol.

Other suspects were sent behind bars for possessing illegal weapons, drugs and liquor.
