Erdem - the name that is on everyone's lips

"Don't worry about Chiltern Firehouse, I'll bring you somewhere much nicer."

Louis Walsh left me in no doubt that we are going to have a ball when I go over and we meet up in London at X Factor. Louis was in top form at the ISPCC Childline lunch at the Four Seasons last Friday, at which Brown Thomas presented the fashion show and took a number of tables to entertain their top clients.

You can never tire of fashion and Friday's show was truly jaw dropping. The stunning cross walkway, which BT's super-talented Darren Feeney conceptualised and built, provided a stunning start to the show. When the retinue of models hit the long, white runway, you could truly have heard a pin drop.

The opening selection of Erdem black dresses was quite thrilling. "This was most definitely the best ever show I've seen in Ireland since the supermodel shows in the 90s," said veteran model agency owner, Celia Holman Lee, who travelled up from Limerick for the show.

Celia's sight was especially sharp as she's just had laser eye surgery done and consequently, she was going 'au naturel' with no eye make-up on, but she still looked fabulous.

She sat at table with Jane Givens, Annette Rocca and Louise Loughman and I also spotted knitwear and accessories designer, Lucy Nagle, who looked wonderful in a bright pink bodycon dress.

Mr Selfridges himself, Paul Kelly, was there one minute greeting the Brown Thomas guests, many of whom started shopping there when he was the boss in Grafton Street. But when I looked to find them, he was gone. However, his other half, BT's fashion director, Shelly Corkery, was there throughout the lunch and looked super glam in black, minding her guests with aplomb.

I couldn't stay for the afters in the Ice Bar but my dining guest on the day, Paula McClean, told me how she is running a 'Fashionable Cocktail Evening' in aid of The Caroline Foundation at the Four Seasons on Friday, September 26.
